METHODOLOGICAL BASIS FOR STUDYING DEVIANT BEHAVIOR OF ADOLESCENTS

Abstract
Theoretical foundations are critical to the study of deviant behavior in sociology. Understanding and preventing adolescent deviant behavior is an important issue that requires the attention of parties in various fields of research. The consequences of such behavior can have long-term consequences for individuals, families and communities. This article expands on the insights offered by behavioral theories to help readers gain a deeper understanding of adolescent deviant behavior. The following paragraphs will review definitions of deviant behavior, the role of theoretical research, the significance of strain theory, the relevance of labeling theory, review concepts of control, introduce theories of self-control, and implications for future research.
