IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TRADE POLICY OF RUSSIA WITH PERSIA THROUGH ASTRAKHAN IN THE XVIII CENTURY

Abstract
The article reveals the main directions of the trade policy of Russia with Persia through Astrakhan in the 18th century. It is pointed out that the geographical position of Astrakhan led to exceptionally favorable conditions in foreign trade relations, and the measures taken by the government of Peter the Great to develop trade in the Caspian region justified themselves and contributed to the growth of trade turnover. At the same time, the author highlights the obstacles, primarily of a foreign policy nature, which prevented the spread of Russian trade influence in Persia. As a result, the author comes to the conclusion that Astrakhan played an important role in the formation of Russia's trade policy in the Caspian region, becoming one of the first centers of its development.
