Abstract

Improving the energy efficiency of automotive internal combustion engines remains an important task in modern transport engineering. A significant portion of the fuel energy in conventional engines is lost in the form of heat through theexhaust gases.This study investigates the possibility of recovering exhaust gas thermal energy using a thermoelectric generator (TEG). A conceptual system is proposed that combines a turbocharger, a direct fuel injection system, and a thermoelectric generatorintegrated into the exhaust line.The analysis demonstrates that the application of such a system can significantly reduce energy losses and increase the overallefficiency of the engine up to approximately 50%.
