This study evaluates the influence of sowing dates and row spacing on yield structure parameters and economic efficiency of late-maturing soybean (Glycine max L.) varieties under the hot and arid conditions of Southern Uzbekistan. Field experiments were carried out in 2025 on typical sierozem soils of the Denov district, Surkhandarya region, involving two soybean varieties (Uzbekskaya-6 and Baraka), three sowing dates (April 5, 15, and 25), and two row spacing treatments (60 and 90 cm). The results demonstrated that the number of pods per plant, seeds per plant, and seed weight were strongly influenced by both sowing time and row spacing. The most favorable outcomes were obtained at the April 15 sowing date, whereas delayed sowing resulted in a reduction of yield components due to elevated temperature stress and limited soil moisture. Analysis of row spacing revealed that narrower spacing (60 cm) contributed to higher biological yield, while wider spacing (90 cm) provided greater economic returns. Overall, the findings highlight that optimizing sowing dates and row spacing is an essential agronomic approach to improve soybean productivity and enhance cultivation practices under specific regional condition.
