Abstract
This article examines phraseological units of the Russian and Uzbek languages from the point of view of translation. Many phraseological units can be translated, preserving the lexical composition, but there are quite a few phraseological units in both languages that mean the same thing, but are conveyed in different words. However, most phraseological units of each language differ in their national specificity. In the article we turn to the method of comparison, phraseological analysis and its constituent methods of phraseological description. The material for the study of phraseological units was collected using a continuous sampling method from the dictionary of phraseological units of the Russian language and the dictionary of phraseological units of the Uzbek language. As a result of the study, it was determined that Russian and Uzbek phraseological units are very similar in many ways.
