Abstract

The article describes such main features of the modern electronic corpus as: accessibility of the corpus in electronic form, representativeness, availability of metalinguistic information, annotation, corpus manager, concordance. Definitions of corpus linguistics are also given, general criteria for its description are highlighted, and a definition is given directly to the object of our research itself – the linguistic corpus.
