THE LINGUISTIC SITUATION IN THE EARLY STAGE OF THE FORMATION OF THE RUSSIAN NATION

Abstract
This article analyzes the linguistic situation in one of the most difficult periods in the formation of the literary language at the end of the 17th - beginning of the 18th century. The main focus is on the controversial issue of the presence of a third South Slavic influence. The article argues that at this time the collapse of the church-book style began and provides convincing arguments in support of this point of view.
