Abstract
This article investigates the problems of determining the hydrostatic pressure force acting on flat surfaces, which is considered a fundamental concept in the field of hydraulic engineering. In hydraulics, besides the traditional existing formulas, the application of integral calculus methods of higher mathematics is demonstrated to find the hydrostatic pressure force for surfaces with variable crosssections (ellipse, triangle). Using specific problems as examples, the processes of partitioning into elementary segments and definite integration using the Newton-Leibniz formula are highlighted step-by-step.
