RESEARCH ON THESAURUSES IN WORLD LINGUISTICS

Abstract
This article discusses thesaurus dictionaries, which are being interpreted as a new type of lexicographic resource in world linguistics, and their distinctive features. It provides information on the first examples of thesaurus dictionaries, definitions and opinions about the term "thesaurus" given by linguists, as well as types of thesauruses: printed, electronic, and associative. The article also presents insights into the evolution of thesauruses and addresses the importance of working on existing thesaurus dictionaries, developing and improving them.
