Phraseology is one of the main branches of linguistics, which studies the meaning and structure of stable combinations in the language. This article provides data about the development of the field of phraseology and the scope of its study. Additionally, phraseological units, which are the main object of phraseology, are analyzed, their types are distinguished using examples, and their significance in the language is clearly explained.
