Abstract
This article analyzes the nature of the dramatic genre, its stage incarnation, and themechanisms of direct impact on the audience. It explores the ways of influencing the consciousnessand emotions of the public through the fundamental concepts of dramatic art, such as action, stagetruth, and the "super-objective." Based on the theoretical views of K.S. Stanislavsky and otherprominent theater figures, the social and artistic functions of drama are revealed.
