Аннотация
Pathomorphological changes in the liver under the influence of the live vaccine of Brucella abortus 19 strain were studied in an immunized experimental rabbit model. 12 rabbits (weighing 3.0–3.5 kg) were divided into 4 groups and immunized four times using different schemes (with and without incomplete Freund’s adjuvant). Histological examination of the liver (hematoxylin-eosin staining) showed focal lympho-histiocytic infiltrates, microgranulomas, activation of Kupffer cells, hepatocyte vacuolization, and an increase in the proportion of binucleated hepatocytes (up to 25–35%). These changes confirm the immunogenicity of the Brucella abortus 19 strain and the leading role of the liver in the pathogenesis of brucellosis.
