Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute inflammatory polyneuropathy characterized by demyelination and axonal damage of peripheral nerves. This study examines the levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and cystatin C in patients with different clinical forms of GBS. The results showed a significant increase in MCP-1 and cystatin C levels in patients with acute motor-sensory axonal neuropathy (AMSAN) compared to other forms. These findings suggest the role of these biomarkers in the pathogenesis of GBS and their potential diagnostic value.
